  • SARAH BURROUGHS

    EDITOR-IN-CHIEF/CO-CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Sarah Burroughs has been writing in some capacity since she was a young boy, and now, as an older transsexual woman, she is continuing to write. This is her third publication that she has started. Her name comes from her favorite playwright (Sarah Kane) and one of her favorite authors (William S. Burroughs). Her interests include: reading, writing, art, design, vintage pornography, and hardcore electronic music. Her other favorite authors are Monica Ojeda, Joan Didion, and Julia Serano. She hopes you enjoy the publication, and write for the coming issues!

  • R. VERLAINE

    CONTRIBUTOR/CO-CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    R. Verlaine is a creative creature of all natures who may be found in marshy bogs, dusty libraries, and dark theaters having reveries about the past. His work has been featured in The Grape, Water Soup Magazine, and The Plum Creek Review. He enjoys writing, drawing, fiber arts, and watching bad movies. His name pays tribute to the original lineup of Television (Tom Verlaine and Richard Hell). He draws inspiration from the weird (see: Mark Fisher), surreal, absurdist, and the transcendent.

  • LESLIE BRADFORD

    CONTRIBUTOR

Leslie Bradford is a butch dyke and a lifelong creative. Her (pen) namesakes are two of her most major influences: writer and lesbian/transgender activist Leslie Feinberg, and Deerhunter frontman and underappreciated queer icon Bradford Cox. Some of her other favorite writers, artists, and musicians include Adrianne Lenker, Kurt Vonnegut, Ling Ma, James Baldwin, Charlie Kaufman, and Elliott Smith. When she’s not writing, she likes to engage in various forms of visual art, watch films and television, and listen to any and all vernacular music. Coming from a sheltered small-town background, she is beyond excited to be writing for a subversive queer publication and hopes it will reach the people who need it.

  • AGNES UNTITLED

    CONTRIBUTOR

Agnes Untitled is an environmental studies student who writes a little bit of everything. She’s super into David Bowie, the Velvet Underground, modern art, poetry, certain drugs, and good movies. Her name comes from all of the untitled paintings by (lesbian) artist Agnes Martin, which she thinks are kinda sexual.

  • JESSE WATSON

    CONTRIBUTOR

Jesse Watson considers himself of a Jack/Jill of all arts, a master of none. His interests include writing prose, poetry, and music; playing guitar, singing, printmaking, drawing, theatre, record collecting, activism, political thought, and history. His name comes from his favorite book (Jess/Jesse, the protagonist of Stone Butch Blues) and his favorite guitarist (Doc Watson). He enjoys overlooked history such as that of butch/femme culture, and his Roman Empires include the brief success of post-Civil War Reconstruction, the Zapatista uprising of 1994, and the dictatorship of Mobutu Sese Seko.

  • MARK BELL

    CONTRIBUTOR

Bell thought he was going to be a writer when he was young, but time and circumstances changed him for the worse. He is still an avid enthusiast of the written word, writing sporadically whenever he feels like there isn't a more apt way to express what he's feeling. His interests include: music (the more left-field the better), science, reading, writing, and sex. His influences: Dennis Cooper, Autechre, Drexciya, Philip Roth, Kathy Acker.
